ERGO TOP stands for active, dynamic sitting that keeps the muscles in motion through continuous balancing of the body’s center of gravity. Developed in close collaboration with the Technical University of Munich, this technology combines the benefits of an exercise ball with ergonomic support.
With a 360° movable seat surface with seat depth adjustment, ERGO TOP encourages natural movement and supports an upright sitting posture. Whether leaning forward, turning or reaching – the seat adapts flexibly and perfectly complements the passive synchronized mechanism of the chairs.
First used in the “Ergo & Friends” stool series, ERGO TOP is now a key feature of all Löffler swivel chairs. Based on scientifically grounded workplace physiology, this innovation helps strengthen the back and muscles, overcome rigid sitting habits and promote long-term health.
All office chairs are equipped with a high-quality gas lift that enables precise height adjustment of up to 11 cm. This allows the seat height to be flexibly adjusted to ensure an ergonomic sitting posture and maximum comfort. This function is ideal for people with a body height between 150 cm and 190 cm and offers comfortable adjustment for different work environments and needs.
Extended options for specific requirements
For people outside the standard height range, special gas lifts are available that allow an even higher or lower seat height. This ensures that even particularly short or tall users can sit in a properly ergonomic position. Combined with other adjustment features, such as the synchronous mechanism or adjustable armrests, the seat height adjustment ensures perfect integration into any work environment and optimal support during long periods of sitting.
For all products purchased since 1 January 2015, we offer a 30-year warranty on the mechanism and a 10-year warranty on the fabrics – at no additional cost. This warranty underlines our confidence in the high-quality craftsmanship and durability of our products.
The warranty applies exclusively upon presentation of the original invoice. Upholstery materials are excluded from the 30-year warranty, as they are subject to a natural ageing process and are considered separately. This comprehensive service reflects our commitment to lasting satisfaction and sustainable quality.

The innovative ERGO TOP technology has been awarded by the renowned Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR). This independent network of experts made up of doctors, physiotherapists, scientists, and product developers is actively committed to promoting health and well-being in everyday life.
The IGR has certified Löffler products with the “Ergonomic product” seal. This award is given exclusively to products that successfully pass comprehensive and strict testing procedures. Particular attention was paid to how well the chairs and stools are tailored to the individual physical needs of users and promote ergonomic seating comfort.
At the factory in Hersbruck, in the heart of Germany, seating furniture is created across around 2,200 square meters that stands for the highest quality and sustainability. Around 40 experienced specialists from the Löffler team upholster, sew, and assemble each piece of furniture with precision and passion.
The materials used, such as foams, are free from CFCs and HCFCs, the plastics are free from harmful substances, and the wood comes from sustainable European forestry. The high-quality leather is sourced only from German farms, with close attention paid to short transport routes and the highest standards.
This commitment to sustainability is also reflected in the recyclability of the furniture: up to 97% of the materials used can be recycled.
